Malcolm Mclaren and Vivienne Westwood opened their alternative boutique at 430 The Kings Road around 1975, naming it SEX, specialising in clothing that defined the punk movement. Changing it to Seditionaries in December 1976,Westwood also licensed her brand of clothing to BOY, another punk outfitters in the Kings Road. Many innovators of the punk music scene frequented both shops, The Sex Pistols arguably renowned as the most famous, being born out of Malcolm and Vivienne's empire. Punks continued to gather in The Kings Road many years after the anarchic explosion of a scene that created and changed the bored and dissatisfied generation of the time.
